Independent Multi-brand St. Johns County, Florida

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm $129 diagnostic

Independent multi-brand appliance repair

We measure something before we quote anything.

6 manufacturers, one method. In St. Johns County it is not the badge on the door that decides what a repair costs — it is how the appliance is built into the room, and whether anybody checked that before naming a part. St. Johns County Appliance is independent, buys genuine OEM parts, and works for the homeowner.

Stages one to five happen before a figure exists. What each one settles

A plain white service van parked in a St. Johns County driveway with its rear doors open on stacked plastic parts bins.
A visit starts in the driveway. What is already in those bins decides whether it finishes in one trip or two.

Why appliances fail here

Three local conditions do most of the damage.

07 stages

A fixed order

Every visit runs the same seven stages, and each one exists to rule something out before the next one costs money. Fitting a control board into a cavity that is still overheating is what happens when the order is skipped, and it is the most common way a repair goes wrong.

2 coastal ZIPs

Salt air on the coast

Ponte Vedra Beach 32082 and St. Augustine 32084 sit in the salt-spray zone. It shows up as corroded condenser fins, seized hinges and pitting on stainless — failures that look like age and are really chemistry.

68 storm days

Summer storms

Northeast Florida runs roughly 68 thunderstorm days a year. Control boards do not usually die in the strike; they die weeks later, having been degraded by it. A dead board on a four-year-old oven is often a surge story.

The service sequence

Seven stages, and not one of them is optional.

This is the whole of what happens between the phone call and the invoice. The order is the argument: each stage rules something out cheaply so the next one does not have to rule it out expensively, and five of the seven happen before anybody quotes a figure.

The seven stages of a repair visit, in order
Step Stage What happens What it settles
01 Intake On the phone Make, appliance, whether it is built-in or freestanding, the symptom in your words, how long it has been happening and what changed in the house around it. Whether a visit is the right answer at all, and which parts are worth putting in the van before we set off.
02 Access Before anything is dismantled How the appliance is fitted: the opening it sits in, the grille or toe-kick it breathes through, what has to come off to reach the back, and whether it rides on rails or has to be lifted. What the job will actually cost in time, and whether the fault is the installation rather than the appliance.
03 Reproduce In your kitchen The fault is made to happen under the conditions it fails in — a full cycle, a loaded pan, a door closed for an hour — rather than described from memory. Intermittent against constant. A fault that will not reproduce is a different investigation from one that will.
04 Measure At the component Electrical and thermal readings taken where the part lives: continuity and resistance, voltage under load rather than at rest, temperatures across the cavity or the coil, pressure and flow at the supply. Which component is out of specification, as a number written down, rather than which one is easiest to sell.
05 Parts Against the serial number The component identified against the model and serial, not the model alone, then checked for whether it is still current and what the lead time is. Whether the repair can be finished at all. On older built-ins this is the question that decides everything after it.
06 Estimate Before any work A written figure, itemised part by part with the labor against it, handed over before anything is fitted — including the case for not repairing it. What you owe, and whether the appliance has a future worth spending it on.
07 Verify Before we leave The appliance reassembled, levelled, resealed and run through a full cycle, with the readings from stage four taken again to confirm they moved. That the original symptom is gone rather than merely quiet. The warranty starts from the date on that invoice.

Customer feedback

What customers said afterwards

Rated 4.2 out of 5 across 19 customer reviews. Each entry below is one visit, described by the person who paid for it.

Three of them, picked without a thumb on the scale.

  • Our built in had a puddle appearing under the left crisper about once a week. He warmed the iced drain, cleared the trough and fitted the wick that had been missing since installation. Dry underneath ever since.

    Amabel R.2026-03-05

  • One rear burner would light then die whenever the pan went on. He found the spark module firing on the wrong port and a burner cap that had been seated wrong for a long time. Both sorted in the one visit.

    Casimir L.2026-04-08

  • The simmer would not stay low and kept jumping up. He rebuilt the valve on that burner and adjusted the low flame screw. It behaves now, though he had to come back once with the right rebuild kit.
